The BANK... ugh!

So Jon and I switched banks so we could have a bank that was more nationally available for the army instead of the banks that we had that were California only. So we went with Bank of America. I like that you can do everything (withdrawl, deposit cash and checks, and balance inquiries) from the outside ATM and not have to worry about going inside, but I don't like all of the hidden surprises that comes with it. We've deposited 3 work paychecks and each time we deposit a check only $100 of your check is available to you at that time and the rest if available at midnight. SOO  not cool! What happens when you need to pay bills or put gas in your car. The last two times that we've deposited a check it gave us the $100 but said there was a 7 DAY HOLD on the rest of our money because we are less than 30 days into this new account (dumbest thing I have ever heard of). UMM that is our money, not yours. I was sooo frustrated with this cause we had bills due and it's hard to pay bills when you don't have the money that you need and that the money that you have  already will pay the bills but won't let you get gas or groceries for a week, no bueno. So I called the bank and told them that this was not ok and that I didn't understand why there was a 7 day hold because I was new to their bank. No one could give me an answer to my question so I demanded that the hold be lifted because I had a right to my money. They lifted the hold and gave me the money, but this same scenario has happened AGAIN! So I guess I will be spending some time tomorrow sternly talking to a bank teller..OH JOY! Ugh.... why is money so important :(

Rough and Tough

So I have been on the verge of tears all week. It is finally hitting me that everything is/will be changing in my life. Reason #1
Jon leaves in 19 days and will be gone for 6 months. I am finally getting used to the routine and schedule of married life and now I will be "single" again :(
Reason #2
Work is pretty crazy right now as well, my supervisor quit to take on a better job and better career opportunity, so everything including our daily schedules and job duties are all up in the air. We have a new supervisor but we are all going to be going through adjustments.
Reason #3
All of my friends are always too busy to hang out. I really really really miss my close friends. No friends to hang out = no adventures which also = hermit crab sarah
Reason #4
My sister has been going through a lot with school, friends and dealing with different relationships with people and is still struggling with being a part of a divorced family. She desperately wants the feeling of "HOME" back and wants me to move back in.  She also feels that the only reason I hang out with her is because Jon is gone. I have asked her if she wants to spend majority of the summer with me, her answer was yes until she realized that was the time frame that I am going to be "alone"
Reason #5
I miss seeing both my parents everyday and hate that I have to schedule time to see them because work, school, chores and spending time with their significant other seems to come first.
Reason #6
I have been nauseous like crazy, dealing with migraines and have had a pain in my stomach for like a week all due to new medicine that I am one And no I am not pregnant.

So this is me right now.. let's hope it gets better and not worse!

Reason #5

New Friends

So last night we had dinner with one of Jon's co-workers and his wife. It turns out that Jon's co-worker is also joining the army and wanted to hopefully create a friendship between his wife and myself because she doesn't know anyone in the area. We had an amazing dinner and talked at the table for close to 4 hours. They are both LDS as well and just got married in November. So the four of us are LDS newlyweds with Army going husbands. It was a lot of fun and we're gonna have dinner together again on friday and then go on a group date on saturday. Yay for NEW FRIENDS!!!

31 days

So in about 31 days Jon leaves for basic training for the army. This goal that we had is finally starting to feel like reality. We're both getting nervous about the big change but looking forward to the end result which is a new job which means more money, new place, and new experiences. I just wish that he didn't have to be gone for 6 months.  Hopefully, though I will be able to go visit him a couple of times in Texas, which will be a big help.  We hope and pray that everything will work out according to God's plan for us, but we know it will.

an AMAZING Dinner!

So lately I have been really eager to try out some new recipes from the many cookbooks we got from the wedding, but since Jon is only home once or twice a week for dinner because of his work schedule we are limited. Tonight since he was home I decided to try something new. They were called chicken rollups. It was chicken breast rolled up with ham and provolone cheese in the middle, covered in bread crumbs and baked. Then on the side we had red potatoes cooked in a skillet with olive oil, garlic salt, pepper, salt and Italian seasoning mmmmmmm! they tasted like potato wedges :) We also had a salad with romaine lettuce, cucumbers, slivered almonds, croutons and craisins topped with poppyseed dressing. OH MY GOODNESS so amazing and Jon thought so too. He liked it so much that he is taking leftovers to work tomorrow :) Mission accomplished and this is now one of my favorite dishes!!  Unlike my mother, I do indeed like to cook! Let's see what our next food adventure brings....

The HOG

So, yesterday I was really bored and had nothing to do like most Saturday's (cause Jon works 12 hour shifts), the sun was shining and so I asked my friend Tara what she was up to. She said nothing so she came over and we ended up going to a near by park to play cards and yahtzee at a picnic table. It was really nice to be outside enjoying the fresh air and the sunshine and not being cooped up and lazy in the house.
The sun was slowly starting to go down and Tara had this great idea to go and borrow her friends motorbike and ride it around. I was excited and nervous at the same time seeing as I had never driven such a thing. The combination of the brake in one hand and the throttle in the other along with leaning and steering scared me a little. I didn't let my fear get in the way of a good time. So I hopped on the bike and off I went... I absolutely LOVED it. The wind was blowing in my hair and my hands were freezing after riding. It was sooo much fun.
I started with little runs and ended up going completely around the property by the end. Sunshine+Good Company+ Adrenaline Rush+Motorbike+Saturday= a Good Time :)

Oh and we got to pet some beautiful horses too!

After the sun went down we came back to my house to finish our game of yahtzee, played a game of checkers, a few games of pick up sticks and a game of mancala. We went and got burritos from Qdoba for dinner and ended up coloring at Tara's with Tyler and Jen.

Overall the day turned out way better than expected. Thanks Tara!

The Story of Us

In the spring of 2009, I was brand new to the YSA Turlock 5th Branch. I had been somewhat shy to make friends, but I noticed this REALLY tall good looking guy around. The more I made friends the more I realized that my new friends were really good friends with Jon. He was cute and I wanted to get to know him better. He came to a few activities that I went to and came over to my house for a few Sunday hang outs. I kept mentioning to my friends that I liked him. There was a YSA dance that was happening on a Friday and I was really hoping that he would go. Surprisingly he did but he was sitting in the foyer the whole time. I wanted to dance with him so I went out and asked him to dance. I of course was completely and totally giddy inside but I didn't let that show. The dance was wonderful and it made me even more eager to get to know him better. The next day was the YSA annual lake trip. He was one of the few people that went a day prior to help set up, so I knew he would be there. The day went well, we played 3 flags up, and some mud football and he flirted with me (as much as he tries to deny it). I was loving the fact that he finally knew I existed. On Sunday, I told our mutual friend Tara that I liked him and with her outgoing personality she asked him what he thought about taking me on a date. That night I had a hang out at my house after church and we were all eating dessert and watching a movie. People started leaving and there was no sign of him leaving. After everyone left, he stayed around for another hour just talking to me.
That night of talking led to a WHOLE week of hanging out. Tuesday I had a picnic and I invited him along with some other friends (not thinking he would come) and he did. I made sandwiches and we ate fruit snacks while watching the ducks at Donnelly Park. Eventually more people showed up and they started playing on the play structure. We had other ideas. We just sat and talked to each other on the pond bank just getting to know each other. By the end of that night we were left to ourselves yet again talking on a bench and he  asked me if I would like to go to the movies with him to see Transformers 2. We set it up for the next day. So Wednesday I went to work anxiously waiting his phone call about our day, but being the gentlemen that he is he waited until AFTER I got off work to call me. So we made plans and he planned on picking me up. We went and watched Transformers 2. On Thursday we spent most of the day together watching Lord of the Rings. I had never seen any of the movies and those are his favorite so he sweet talked his way into getting me to watch them ( I personally just wanted an excuse to 1. see him 2. hang out with him and 3. possibly cuddle with him (: )
I stayed awake through the first two movies ( amazing I know lol) and we started sitting with about a foot between us and ended up cuddling after less than an hour. Friday we decided to go walk around the mall, and as we were walking he reached for my hand to hold it. I was definitely not complaining but was somewhat curious because we weren't technically dating. At that point he had noticed that I pretty much see someone I know wherever I go and right after that Brother Severson comes and taps us on the shoulder. We got CAUGHT holding hands so we knew the rumors of us dating were definitely going to spread like wild fire. Later that evening we had been invited to go hang out with some friends and as we were walking up to our friends' house he reached for my hand again. I told him that if we walked in holding hands everyone would think that we were dating. (Of course I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to date him, and I had been wondering were our hang outs would lead and had been eagerly waiting for the "so where do you see us" conversation) So I asked him if we walk in holding hands and they wonder if we are dating, are we? He thought for a second and said Yes.
So like I have said I initiated this relationship as much as he tries to say otherwise. We enjoyed hanging out with friends that night and July 3, 2009 started the beginning of US.

* The picture was taken 07.04.09 at a 4th of July BBQ because my mom wanted to see him :)
